Disability not Inability    May 27

Disability not Inability’s focus is educating people about the experiences of people living with disabilities and mental health issues. Films are a great way to creatively raise awareness about the experience of living with a disability, either physical or mental, which we feel isn’t talked about enough. We are featuring shorts and feature films from filmmakers of all ages to highlight many different perspectives. Disability not Inability will include special guests, who will share their stories and experiences, as well as the filmmakers, who can share about their film and their personal stories.

Sign At All Times

11:00 a.m.      8 mins

Sign At All Times tells the story of how 18-year-old Brian Estrada overcame his personal adversity and found pride in his identity. Although Estrada is well known in the local Minnesota skateboarding scene, few individuals understand what his life is really like. Even those who see him on a regular basis often have no real communication with him. A simple fist bump hello or goodbye are often the extent of his interactions. While lacking any audible dialogue, this film gives viewers a glimpse into the life of Brian Estrada and gives the answers to why so many have immense respect for him.
